New: Fishing on the Captain Hook Welcome to CASTAWAY 2, our new (completed in 2002) 4 bedroom/3 bath beach house that sleeps up to 14 located by the beautiful uncrowded beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in the Ft. Morgan area of Gulf Shores. INFO ABOUT 4 BEDROOM/3 BATH: SLEEPS 14 GUESTS CASTAWAY 2 is about 250 feet from the beach with direct beach access (no streets or roads to cross getting to the beach). The beach is about 1 minute or less walk, and is actually closer to the beach than many of the so called “beach front” condos. Good view of the beach and gulf from our large deck furnished with deck chairs. Our beautiful uncrowded beach is almost like having your own private beach. NO crowds; NO traffic; NO noise; NO high rise condos or motels; NO endless string of the usual tourist shops, night clubs, and bars. YES peace; YES quiet; YES relaxation; a truly great vacation experience in a family oriented setting safe for children. You will have many fun filled things to see and do without costing a fortune, plus you’re only minutes away from great golf courses, the gulf’s finest fishing, water parks, amusement parks, and a 100+ store name brand outlet shopping center, plus some of the best dining found anywhere. RATES CASTAWAY 2 is totally equipped for beach fun. Once again, everything on this list is included AT NO ADDITIONAL COST to you: LOCATION: 431 Benard Court East, Gulf Shores, Alabama TELEPHONE NUMBER AT BEACH : 251/543-1115 DIRECTIONS FROM GULF SHORES: As you come into Gulf Shores on highway 59, cross the Intracoastal Canal Bridge (high bridge over canal) and go to the 4th traffic light. This will be the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 180 (the Ft. Morgan Highway). There will be a WALLGREENS on one corner and a BURGER KING on the opposite corner. Turn west (right) between WALLGREENS and BURGER KING and go about 18 2/10 miles to BENARD COURT EAST. Turn left on BENARD COURT EAST and CASTAWAY 2 is the 5th house on the right.
BBQ GRILL: DUE TO FIRE HAZZARD, only use BBQ grill outside the building, NOT under the house or on the deck. There is a good chance the flames could flair up and catch the vinyl underpinning under the house on fire, or that the coals could fall from the grill and catch the deck on fire. CASTAWAY 2 is indeed the best beach vacation value anywhere. You will not find a nicer place so well equipped with beach stuff anywhere near the affordable rate as CASTAWAY 2. With the many things extras we furnish, all you’ll need to bring is your bathing suit and your food. We even have a slightly used tooth brush for you to use! (JUST KIDDING!) DEEP SEA FISHING ABOARD CAPTAIN HAL”S CAPTAIN HOOK I am a US Coast Guard licensed and insured Captain, and have my own charter boat, the Captain Hook. We have deep sea fishing trips available as well as a fun sightseeing/dolphin watch boat ride which is a lot of fun for the whole family. The Captain Hook is a 25 foot Parker Pilot House with a fully covered fishing and passenger area. It is powered by twin 130 horse power Honda engines. It is very smooth and comfortable riding, dry, and is faster than many of the other boats---less time riding and more time fishing. We can fish up to 6 people and we have several different fishing trips available: 8 hour, 12 hour, night fishing, and youth fishing trips. If you like to fish, we have a fishing trip you’ll enjoy. Our youth fishing trips are especially tailored to providing our youngsters a safe fun ocean going adventure they will remember their whole lives. It is affordable and safe and fun for everyone. When I was 12 years old my grandfather took me on my first deep sea fishing trip, and I’ll never forget the fun we had. From then on, I wanted to be a sea captain. Even though I have a business degree from Auburn University, I never forgot that first trip, and never gave up my dream of being a sea captain. AND NOW I ARE ONE! My normal rate for a charter fishing trip runs from $950 to $1300, but we have a special offer for guests staying with us at Castaway 2 of $600 for an 8 hour trip. That $600 is the total price for the trip, NOT per person. This $600 covers everything except what you eat and drink. Tackle, license, bait and fish cleaning are included in this price. This $600 is usually what I charge everyone else for a half day. We have other special youth and night fishing trip offers as well as the special sightseeing/dolphin watch boat ride.
